What Is ILSSI?
The International Lean Six Sigma Institute (ILSSI) is a globally recognized certifying body dedicated to promoting best practices in Lean Six Sigma through standardized training and certification programs. Their approach blends the rigor of Six Sigma statistical methods with the adaptability of Lean principles to improve processes across industries.
ILSSI certifications are known for being practical, internationally respected, and aligned with the latest thinking in continuous improvement and operational excellence. They offer certification at all levels—from Yellow Belt to Master Black Belt—with a focus on real-world application and results.
You can learn more about their certification programs at ILSSI.org.
What ILSSI Green Belt Candidates Should Know
To become an ILSSI-certified Green Belt, candidates must demonstrate a deeper understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools beyond the Yellow Belt level. This includes:
- Mastery of the DMAIC framework
- Competence in data-driven decision making
- Proficiency in statistical software such as Excel, Minitab, or SigmaXL
- Ability to lead small-to-medium improvement projects or support larger ones led by Black Belts
Preparation involves both theoretical study and practical application. The exam typically includes multiple-choice questions across the full Green Belt BOK and may require completion of a project or case study.
