My favorite part about running the Six Sigma Study Guide website is getting to help people achieve their financial and career goals. I don’t want anyone stuck in a dead end job and I don’t want any company suffering from poor performance! The chief way I get to do this is by coaching Six Sigma belt candidates through their exams.
I’m very hands-on, so I get a lot of emails. Here’s one of my most recent favorites:
Hi Ted,
Thanks for responding I am going to try and go for the Green Belt, I took the first 30 questions and only got 19 correct. I was disappointed with my results. It terrorized me so I stopped, bought the book and now I a reading the sections again.

Sorry / Not Sorry!
Now, I don’t want anyone being terrorized! But a little healthy fear is excellent motivation ahead of taking a certification exam!
After coaching tens of thousands of Six Sigma candidates I can tell you the single best way to prepare for the exam is to take a lot of questions before hand.
And it is a really, really good idea to take the practice exams before the real exam … All the better to know where you need to improve while you still have time to improve, than after the exam and it’s too late!!
While I’m glad Rita (and others) have used my practice exams to discover that they needed additional study, I’d like everyone to remember that tens of thousands of people pass these exams each year – many starting with far worse baseline practice scores than you have. So, while it is hard work, you can get there!
If you’d like more practice sets or coaching, I’d be honored if you picked the ones I have. If not, no worries. Either way, let me know how to best help you going forward!
